LEAGUE INFORMATION

 

 
Thank you for being a part of Rocky Mountain School of Baseball's 17th Annual Super League.  There are 425 Teams spanning from Rexburg, Idaho to Las Vegas, Nevada competing in 5 Regions (Idaho, Northern Utah, Salt Lake Valley, Utah Valley, Southern Utah)

PLEASE NOTE: It is the team's responsibility to check the web site schedules every Thursday prior to their games.  Schedule changes may occur periodically throughout the season.  If a change occurs after Thursday @ 5PM, RMSB will contact the team.  Please email RMSB at rmsb@rmsb.com for any questions or concerns regarding the league schedule.

8u & 9u Age Divisions

   
  • Base runner may steal or advance to any base after the ball crosses home plate.
  • Batter is automatically out on a 3rd strike.  (No 3rd drop strike rule will be in effect).
  • 8 runs per half inning: After 8 runs score, teams exchange offense and defense.  All runs which score on the play of the 8th run are recorded. The 8 Run per inning rule is not in affect the last inning.
 

10u Age Division

   
  • Base runner may steal or advance to any base after the ball crosses home plate.
  • Dropped third strike rules apply.
  • 8 runs per half inning: After 8 runs score, teams exchange offense and defense.  All runs which score on the play of the 8th run are  recorded. The 8 Run perinning rule is not in affect the last inning of the game.
 

LEAGUE RULES AND REGULATIONS

   

The League will be governed by Official MLB Rules with the following exceptions

  1. Home team is listed first on RMSB Network schedule.
  2. Game length will be 7 innings or no new inning at 1 hour and 45 minutes. If game is tied when time expires or after 7 innings, 1 extra inning will be played using the International Tiebreaker. If game is is tied after the 1 extra inning, the game will end in a tie.
  3. 9 run rule after 5 innings.
  4. 4 innings or 1 Hour constitutes a complete game when delayed or called because of inclement weather.
  5. Pitchers can pitch a maximum of 7 innings in one day.
  6. You can re-enter the starting pitcher one time.
  7. Pitchers - Maximum of 6 warm-up pitches between innings.
  8. Batting Order Re-entry Rule: Starters may only re-enter one time and in the same spot in the batting order.
  9. Batting Order: There is no limit to the number of players you have in the batting lineup. A team must bat a minimum of 9 players.
  10. Unlimited Defensive substitutions. Your defensive lineup is non-related to your batting order. A player may play defensively even if they are not in the batting lineup.
  11. No Restrictions on Cleats or Bats.  However, Pitchers are not allowed to wear metal cleats on portable mounds.
  12. Home team will be official scorer unless otherwise designated by umpire.   Put starting time in the book, the umpire is the official time keeper.
  13. We will enforce an avoid contact or must slide rule at all bases.  Malicious contact-runner will be ejected.     It is the discretion of the umpire if the runner is trying to avoid contact or a collision.
  14. A must slide rule will be in effect when an infielder is attempting to turn a double-play at second base. If the runner is not close enough to merit a slide, he must peel away from the baseline. This rule is for the protection of the base runner. The runner will be called out only if by his not sliding or peeling away affects the defensive play.
  15. Eliminate defensive huddles prior to your team taking the field in between innings.
  16. Please have a Catcher available to warm up your Pitcher between innings when your Catcher is not ready.
  17. Only one coach outside of dugout during games (does not include base coaches).
  18. No speed up runners for Catchers and Pitchers.
  19. No infield before games. Get teams in the dugout and have your teams ready to play on time.
  20. End of game – Remove garbage from dugout and clear dugout in a timely manner. Hold post game discussions outside of the dugout.
  21. Show respect to the umpires, your opponents and to this great game.
  22. Have a FUN season of Super League!

 

 

SUPER LEAGUE PLAYOFFS

   
  • League teams will be invited to play in the League Playoffs on June 26th based on league standings if they have not already qualified for the Tournament of Champions. Winners of the Playoffs will qualify to play in the Tournament of Champions in Heber City, Utah - July 22, 23, 24, 2010
 

WEATHER & LEAGUE CONTACT INFORMATION

   
  • Weather is always a factor this time of year. Keep in mind some teams may be traveling great distances, please contact RMSB if your home field may be unplayable. If games are called off they will be called off one game at a time, rather than backing them up the entire day. Look for more information on rain out protocol if and when inclement weather is in the forecast.
